Jeraldine Smith Brittain

Jeraldine Smith Brittain, age 80, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, in a nursing facility in Monroe, GA.
She was born on February 29, 1932, in Douglasville, Ga., where she lived until moving to Athens, Ga., in 2006. She was married for 45 years to John L. Brittain, who preceded her in death in 1997.
Survivors include her children: Randy Brittain and his wife, Diane, of Carrollton, Ga.; Sherry Brittain Hartsfield, and her husband, Terry, of Carrollton, Ga.; Kathy Brittain Richardson, and her husband, Randy, of Rome, Ga.; and Rick Brittain, and his wife, Denise, of Bogart, Ga.; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Delores Anderson of Douglasville, Ga., and her brothers, John Smith, of Lithia Springs, Ga., and Floyd Smith of Mountain City, Tenn.
Mrs. Brittain was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Douglasville, Ga. She had more recently attended Prince Avenue Baptist Church in Athens, Ga.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lord and Stephens West Funeral Home, 1211 Jimmy Daniel Road, Bogart, Ga.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 27, at 2 p.m. at the Central Baptist Church, 5811 Central Church Road, Douglasville, GA 30135, with the Rev. Bill Ricketts officiating. The family will receive guests before the service from noon to 2 p.m.
Donations may be made in Mrs. Brittain's honor to the Central Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Alzheimer's Association.
