Jennie Herren Bean, 92, passed away on January 11, 2011.
She was born in Fairplay, Georgia and spent twenty-three years of her married life traveling the world with her husband of sixty-three years on his tours of duty in the US Army. They lived in Athens after his retirement in 1963. She was preceded in death by her husband Lt. Col. (ret.) Gooding Hughes Bean in 2005.
She is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Carol Kilgore, Mrs. Emily Sloan and Mrs. Laura Wilson; her son, Gooding H. Bean, Jr. (Pete); three granddaughters, three grandsons and two great grandsons.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST with Dr. John L. Kipp officiating. Interment will be in Athens Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until service time.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
