Jean M. Snelling, 88, died August 25, 2016.
Born in St. Petersburg, FL, she was the daughter of the late Lyle W. and Ethel Carroll McClung and was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, A. Harold Snelling, Jr.
A longtime resident of Albany, GA, she moved to Athens 2 years ago to live with her daughter.
She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Albany. As a lifetime member of the Charity League, she was a proud volunteer at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for over 40 years. She enjoyed reading, golf, and animals.
Survivors include her children, Mark A. Snelling of Leesburg, GA, Pamela J. Snelling of Athens, and Matthew H. Snelling of Jefferson, GA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Athens Area Humane Society, 1781 Mars Hill Road, Watkinsville, Ga. 30677.
