Athens, GA - Jean Haines Fowler, 84, died May 3, 2007.
Born in Sipsey, AL, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Edward and Elsie Ballinger Haines. She has made her home in Athens since 1950 and was a retired preschool teacher. Mrs. Fowler enjoyed traveling and caring for her loving family. She was a porcelain artist and member of Beech Haven Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 7, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Beech Haven Baptist Church with Dr. Stewart Simms officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband, Hoyt N. Fowler, Sr.; children, Phyllis Fowler Boyles and her husband Bill of Tallahassee, FL, Patricia J. Fowler of Athens and Hoyt N. Fowler, Jr. "Skip" and his wife, Tammie of Fernandina Beach, FL; sisters, Jacqueline Webb of Laurel Springs, NC, Josephine Massey of Pensacola, FL, Geraldine Hurst of Mt. Vernon, GA and Janice Brown of Greenville, FL; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beech Haven Baptist Church Library or a charity of choice.
