Covington - Jannie Lou Bowen, age 80, formerly of Crawford, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Heartland Hospice House Conyers.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 12, 2008 at 11AM at Crawford Baptist Church with Rev. David Shiver officiating. Burial will follow at Peterman Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rod Quinton, Geoffrey Quinton, John Quinton, Buck Smith, James Smith, Bobby Arnold, Charlie Arnold and Jonathan Hill.
Born in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late George Ruff and Bronnie Woods Peterman. For 28 years she was the owner and operator of The Hut and member of Crawford Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and was well know for her beautiful roses.
Survivors include her daughters: Brenda Quinton of Covington, Linda "Judy" Morrell of Covington, Judy Lynn McCoy of Monroe, NC; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
