Janis Westbrook Adams

Janis Westbrook Adams, (10-3-1950) beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at her home. 

Born in Athens, Georgia, Janis was the daughter of the late George Washington Westbrook and Joan Harvey Westbrook. She held various roles throughout her career, starting at the Athens Chamber of Commerce and later at DuPont. She also owned and operated Tiny Town Nursery and worked alongside her parents at Westbrook Realty. Her proudest roles were mom, 'Nan' to her four grandchildren, and being a second mother to many nieces and nephews. 

Janis will be fondly remembered for her thoughtfulness and kindness, often expressed by sharing her love and wonderful cooking with others. 

Survivors include her high school sweetheart and husband of 54 years, Ted Andrew Adams; two sons and daughters-in-law and four grandchildren, Kevin and Tanya Adams (Butler and Westbrook) and Chris and Kate Adams (Alice and George); four siblings, Harvey Westbrook (Janet), Cauthen Westbrook (Joan), Sally Bolemon (Mike Smith) and Lee Westbrook (Marsha). 

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, Danielsville. The family will receive visitors prior to the service beginning at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at stjude.org/donate.
