Janice Messer

Janice Messer, 65, wife of 26 years to Randall Croya, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017. Born in Athens on February 13, 1952, she was the daughter of the late John Dillard Messer and Mary Evelyn Gearin Messer. Survivors in addition to her husband Randall include four children: Tina Newberry of Crawford, Randy (Mandy) Irwin of Winterville, Kristy Irwin of Athens and Amanda Croya of Athens; brothers and sisters: David (Kathy) Messer of Winterville, Ricky (Gail) Messer of Lexington, Cathy (Phil) Cartey of Watkinsville, Mike Messer of Comer, John Messer of Danielsville, Pam Messer of Lexington; grandchildren: Michael Newberry, Haley Baker, Trey Papp, Kevin Irwin, Lauren Beck, Derek Duncan, Alex Irwin and Abby Irwin. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 at 1PM at Lord & Stephens East with Rev. Blake Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens.
