Janice (Smith) Hubert

Janice Smith Hubert, cherished mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at the age of 77.

Born in Athens, she was a daughter of the late Millard Veal Smith and Elizabeth Hancock Smith. Mrs. Hubert was a longtime member of Tuckston United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. She volunteered with Our Daily Bread and a number of other organizations. Mrs. Hubert enjoyed arts, crafts, quilting, upcycling furniture and spending time with her beloved dog, Sadie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Harold Hubert II.

Survivors include her sons, Charles F. Elder IV (Kay) and Barry Wilson Elder (Donna); step-children, Daire Munsey (Glen) and Doug Hubert (Melissa); sister, Faye S. Chambers; sister-in-law, Marie Hubert Moran; grandchildren, Charles Fullilove Elder V, Mary Katherine Elder, John Collin Elder, Janie Elizabeth Elder and Maxwell Davis Elder,; nephew, William E. Chambers and niece, Kymberly D. Chambers.

Funeral services will be Sunday, January 2, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Tuckston United Methodist Church with visitation following. Masks are required.
