Janice C. Gilbert

Janice C. Gilbert, 80, wife of the late William Arthur Gilbert, Jr., died Friday, June 17, 2022. Born in Athens, she was the daughter of Hugh and Roselle Griffith Culbreth. In addition to her husband and parent she was preceded in death by her son: William A. Gilbert, III; stepdaughter: Cathy Kindness and sister: Barbara C. Wolfe. Janice retired from the Oglethorpe County Board of Education as a bookkeeper after 31 years. She was a longtime member of Salem Baptist Church.  Survivors include one son: Freddy (Pam) Gilbert; grandchildren: Molly Rose Gilbert and William Arthur Gilbert, IV; nephews: Mack (Betty) Wolfe and David Wolfe and her traveling buddies and partners in crime, Brenda Wall and Mable West.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Salem Baptist Church Grounds and Cemetery Fund,  694 Salem Church Rd, Lexington, GA 30648.
