Ila - Janet Adams Goetz, 51, wife of Joey Goetz, died Friday, April 4, 2008 at her residence.
Born in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Orin (Big) and Ruth Bradley Adams. She had worked for the University of Georgia for 15 years and was very active in Relay For Life. She was a member of Gordons Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her daughters; Deena (Aaron) Altazan of Baton Rouge, LA, Marlena (Corey) Whitney of AL; son: David Goetz of AL; sisters: Debbie (David) Hawks of Nicholson, Becky (Steve) Hill of Hull, Sherry Allen (William Hardman) of Danielsville; one granddaughter: Ashlyn Joelle Altazan and five step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 6, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Gordons Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Passmore. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Hawks, Steve Hill, Scott Brown, Jimmy Bird, William Hardman, Bradley Allen, Josh Hill and Adam Allen. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Flowers are optional. Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society.
