Janet Alice (Lindsay) Foell

Janet Alice Lindsay Foell, 77, of Watkinsville, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Elwood Lindsay and Jennie Caster Lindsay. Mrs. Foell was the current President of the Council on Auxiliaries/Volunteers of the Georgia Hospital Association. She was Past President of the Athens Regional Volunteer Auxiliary, and current hospital volunteer at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Foell also volunteered with the Salvation Army and worked for many years as the Registrar for Oconee County High School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Nelson A. Foell, Sr.

Survivors include her children, Robin Lynn Johns, her husband, Kevin and their children, Christian and Aidan, Janet Alice LaFond and her husband, David and their daughter, Lindsay Mitchell and Nelson A. Foell, Jr. and his wife, Faith and their children, Erin and John Reid; one sister, Barbara Gumpper and her husband, Dave; and her Athens auxiliary volunteer family.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Oconee Chapel, 2370 Highway 53, Watkinsville, GA. Interment will follow in Oconee Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be the Oconee County Fire Department Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Oconee Chapel.
