Janet Jones Dawkins, 91, died April 19, 2017.
A native of Maxeys, GA, she was a daughter of the late Julian E. and Minnie Lee Jones and was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, William Ozzie Dawkins. Mrs. Dawkins was a member of Maxeys Christian Church, the Maxeys Ladies Society and served on the board of the Maxeys Scholarship Fund for several years.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Maxeys Christian Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Maxeys.
Survivors include two children, Bill (Linda) Dawkins of Jasper, GA and Jan (Jim) Hamala of Watkinsville; four sisters-in-law, Helen Grindstaff, Jeanette Hemphill and Libba (Tommy) Cunningham and Janet N. Dawkins of Lincolnton; two brothers-in-law, Lewis Dawkins and Sammy (Vicki) Dawkins; five grandchildren, Angie Dawkins, Cody (Sarah) Dawkins, Matt Dawkins, Colt (Angelina) Prattes and Taylor Hamala; four great grandchildren; and a very special aunt, Mary Seagraves.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Maxeys Christian Church, PO Box 710004, Maxeys, GA 30671.
