Jane Floyd Scott passed away April 21st, 2010 after fighting a six-year battle against breast cancer.
She was born on July 30th, 1934, to Reba Louise Williams Floyd Beatenbaugh and Henry Grady Floyd, deceased. She graduated from Athens High School and went on to become a loving wife, devoted mother and exceptional grandmother to Mary Tanner Scott, Madeline Rene Long, David Miles Clay, Meredith Lynn Clay and Allison Grace Clay.
She will be missed by many friends. Whether it was playing a competitive game of golf, tennis or bridge, she brought a sense of fun and grace to everything she did. She always gave her best when called upon her by family or friends.
She is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband of 57 years George M. Scott, as well as her three children, Marshall Scott, of Athens, Jennifer, married to Paul F. Clay of Knoxville, TN and Ellen, married to Shepherd D. Long of Kennesaw, GA. She is also survived by her mother, Reba and her brother, Richard T. Floyd, along with his wife, Joyce.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 24th , 2010 at 11:00 AM at Oconee Hill Cemetery with Dr. John L. Kipp officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Oconee Hill Cemetery Sexton's House at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society or the First Presbyterian Church of Athens.
