Watkinsville, GA - Jane Christopher Aiken died Friday, October 17, 2008 at University Healthcare.
Jane, a native and lifelong resident of Oconee County, was born to the late Emmitt and Myrt Evans Christopher on June 7, 1929. She was the widow of Billy Aiken and was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Christopher.
Survivors include her sisters, Elsie C. Harper and Evelyn C. Walker; two sisters-in-law, Natalie A. Wheat and Maureen Aiken.
Graveside services will be Sunday, October 19, 2008 at 4:00 PM at the Johnson United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday in the fellowship hall of the Johnson UMC from 3:00 PM until the hour of the services.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Johnson UMC c/o Jack Carter - Treasurer, 1341 Oliver Bridge Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677.
Jane was limited in her activities since a stroke in 1991. Jane and her family are thankful for the support and attention provided to her over these many years by her friends and neighbors. In addition, appreciation is expressed to the staff of Vista Care Hospice and University Health Care for their excellent care and attention in the last few months of her life.
