James "Jimmy" Thomas Williams

James “Jimmy” Thomas Williams, 91, died January 12, 2022.

A native of Clarke County, he was a son of the late Magdaline and James Humphrey Williams. He was also preceded in death by his wife of sixty-seven years, Ruth Naomi Williams.

Mr. Williams retired from the United States Navy, having served in the Korean War. He was previously an ordained Deacon at West End Baptist Church but since the early 1970s was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and RAs. Mr. Williams was a member of the Masonic Lodge for sixty-five years.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 14, 2022 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, WEST. A graveside service will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.

Survivors include a son, Ricky Williams; two grandchildren, Travis Williams and Brooks Williams; one great grandson, Gavin Williams.
