James "Jimmy" Travis Sailors, 89, of Watkinsville, passed away on August 5, 2023. Born on March 13, 1934, he was the son of the late Wilburn Travis Sailors and Sybil Coile Sailors.
Jimmy loved his family, Grace Fellowship church of which he was a member for 15 years, and the Georgia Bulldogs, but first and foremost, he loved the Lord. He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and was an evangelist at heart. He wanted everyone to know our Lord & Savior and never missed an opportunity to share God’s word.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Bramblett; brother, Billy Sailors; sister, Brenda Joyce Sailors.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Sailors; daughters, Rita Bryant (Scott), Amy Perry (Joe); grandchildren, Paula Bryant, Brenda McAfee, Abby Fuller, Jamie Bryant, Mackenzie Bramblett, Megan Marino, Mark Perry, Mitch Perry.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 11:30 AM in the chapel of Lord & Stephens, WEST, Watkinsville with Pastor Tony Vismor officiating. Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the funeral home.
