Athens - James T. Moore, 82, husband of 62 years to Dolly Scoggins Moore, died Friday, April 11, 2008 at his residence.
Mr. Moore was born February 16, 1926 in Union, SC, and was the son of the late James Ruey and Minnie Sanders Moore.
Living in Athens for 26 years, Mr. Moore was transferred from the Dupont Plant in Waynesboro, VA. He was a graduate of Union High School, Union, SC, and Clemson University, Clemson, SC, with a degree in electrical engineering. After graduating he accepted work with E.I. Dupont de Nemours where he spent his entire working career. In addition to Athens and Waynesboro he spent four years in Holland overseeing the electrical systems for a plant being established there. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors in addition to his wife, include his children: Carole M. Judd (Philip) of Cross Lanes, WV, Susan Moore Brown (Mitch) of Annapolis, MD, James Lindsey Moore (Kim) Waynesboro, VA, Shirley Rhodes Johnson (William) of Pleasant Shade, TN, Mary Moore Garrison (Garry) of Athens; sister: Virgie Moore Goree (Jack) of Newberry, SC; brother: Robert Donald Moore (Ann) of Buffalo, SC; sister-in-law: Betty Scoggins Dantzler of Athens, brother-in-law, Raymond E. Scoggins.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Falling Creek Ranch, Elberton, GA.
