James Thomas Strickland Sr., 63, of Colbert, died Sunday June 17, 2012.
A native of Vienna, Mr. Strickland was the son of the late Guy A. and Blanchie Brown Strickland, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by his son, James Thomas Strickland Jr., and sisters, Frances Spratlin, Sue Fullington, and Dorothy Ledbetter.
Survivors include his children, Cora Wilson, Doug Rogers, Renee Avant, and Vanessa Potts; sisters, Sara Witcher, Betty Adams, and Carolyn Dove; and grandchildren, Emmett, Ashley, Alexis, and Autumn Wilson, Douglas and Katlyn Rogers, Jackson and Alcy Avant, and Tyler Autry.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, at Lord & Stephens' Danielsville Chapel.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12-2 p.m. on Wednesday.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, has charge of arrangements.
