James H. "Jimmy" Shivar, 89, passed away January 6, 2017.
Jimmy was a son of the late James H., Sr. and Beulah Henson and was also preceded in death by one son, James "Jamie" H. Shivar, III; one brother and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Dot Shivar; son, David C (Beverly) Shivar; four grandchildren, Nathan (Shannon) Shivar of Atlanta, GA, Lydia (Job) Koshy of Greater Noida, India, Hannah (Jimmy) Simpson of Rome, GA, Jason (Ava Claire) Shivar of Alpharetta, GA; three great grandchildren, Ben Shivar and Jack Shivar, both of Atlanta, GA, and Charlotte Simpson of Rome, GA.
Jimmy was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class for many years. He was a disabled World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army in Japan. He was co-owner of Compton and Shivar Office Equipment and Supplies.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 9, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST, with Revs. David Shivar and Bill Ricketts officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
