James Raymond Robertson, 59, of Athens, GA, died on Thursday, July 25, 2013.
He was born to James (late) and Grace Robertson on May 8, 1954. He married Dorothy Cody-Robertson in 1990 and they lived in Middlesex, and then Bound Brook for more than 23 years before relocating to Athens, GA in 2011.
Raymond was a gentle and kind man who was known for his generous smile and dedicated work ethic. Although he worked for several companies, Raymond spent the majority of his career as 1st Chef at Somerset Medical Center in Bridgewater, NJ.
In addition to spending time with his family, Raymond enjoyed several past-times and hobbies. Every year during football season, Raymond would be seen wearing red and blue while rooting for his favorite NFL team, the New York Giants. He also had a passion for motorcycles, fishing, cooking and grilling, baseball games, and music. He also enjoyed taking his dogs Harvey and Molly for long walks around the neighborhood.
Raymond was proceeded in death by his father James Robertson and brother Gregory Robertson. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Dorothy Cody-Robertson, Athens, GA; three children, Timothy Cody, Crawfordville, GA; Crystle Cody, Bogart, GA; and Tiffany Cody, Somerset, NJ. Raymond will be greatly missed by his beloved mother Grace Robertson, Middlesex, NJ, and three siblings, Cynthia Williams, Middlesex, NJ; Dave Robertson, Plainfield, NJ; and Michelle Robertson, San Antonio, TX.
He also leaves his two adoring grandchildren, nieces, a nephew, several great nephews and a great niece, as well as many other relatives and friends.
The homegoing service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 3 at Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes in Athens, GA.
