James Richard Porterfield

James Richard Porterfield, 82, died October 14, 2013.
A native of Madison County, GA, he was a son of the late Richard David and Audie Rachel Eberhart Porterfield and was also preceded in death by three brothers, William Noel Porterfield, David Porterfield and Hugh Thomas Porterfield. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of Meadow Baptist Church and a longtime member of the John H. Jones Masonic Lodge #348 in Danielsville.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Meadow Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Sarna officiating. Interment will be in Colbert Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Jane Porterfield; four daughters, Tasha (Dale) Johnson, Beth Porterfield, Becky (Hank) Cobb and Tressa (Glenn) Fuhs; sister, Mary Lee Esco; brothers, Mike Porterfield and Pete Porterfield; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
Memorials may be made to the Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
