James Phillips, 60, of Athens, died Sunday, February 1, 2015. Born in Royston GA, James was a member of Restoration Apostalic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Phillips, daughter, Alicia Griffeth, mother, Jeannette Phillips, and siblings, Charles Phillips, Martha Sanders, Linda Campbell, Ralph Phillips, Floyd Phillips, Travis Phillips, and Jerry Phillips.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 3, from 6-8. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 4, at 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens East chapel. Burial will follow at Jefferson Pentecostal Church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Young, Thad Jones, Wesley Jones, Matthew Jones, Blake Gable, and Tyrone Taylor, with Jason Griffeth, Raya McDonald, and Roy Appleby III serving as honorary pallbearers.
