James L. "Richard" Nix

James L. "Richard" Nix, 87, husband of Betty Drew Nix, died Tuesday, October 16, 2018. Born in Alpharetta, GA, he was the son of the late John L. Nix and Adena Cochran Nix. Following his graduation from Milton High School, Richard joined the US Navy, where he was the Chief Electrician for the Blue Angels. After serving in the Navy for 18 years he began his career in banking and retired from Georgia Federal Bank as Vice President of the Alpharetta location. He served on the Board for the North Fulton County Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Boston Terrier Club of Atlanta.
Survivor in addition to his wife include one daughter, Nanci Nix of Athens; granddaughter: Savannah Lockman of Athens; sister: Mary Sue Holcomb Rigby of Alpharetta; niece: Sonja Holcomb and nephew: Miles (Jackie) Holcomb.
Private services will be held.
