James Cornelius Kepp, Jr. “Big Neal” passed away on May 29, 2024. Born on July 16, 1957 in Würzburg, Germany, he was the son of the late Lieutenant Colonel James Cornelius Kepp Sr. and Bessie Reba Curran Kepp.
Retired from working at the University of Georgia for 30 years, Big Neal loved spending time with his family, friends and working on his cars. He was a car enthusiast, with a special love and passion for Chevrolet cars and American Muscle Cars. He loved sharing his passion for cars with his two children, (Little) Neal and Rebecca. (Big) Neal was an avid car collector, as well as a collector of Schwinn Stingray Bicycles. He loved football, especially the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons. (Big) Neal never met a stranger, and would brighten up anyone's day he came across. His jokes and bright spirit are missed by all, and will never be forgotten.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his uncle, Dr. Lowell Kepp; aunt, Ann Zapico.
Survivors include his children, Rebecca White Kepp, James Cornelius Kepp III “Little Neal” (Tamara); sisters, Mary Leah Kepp Mallory, Deborah Ann Kepp Keith; brother, Jack Lowell Kepp; nieces and nephews, Katie, Meghan, Faith, Matt, Jack, Sara, Gray; many cousins; lifelong companion, Tommye Beal Kepp.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Lord & Stephens West. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM.
