James L. McClain, Sr., 91, husband of the late Hattie Moore Limehouse McClain, died Saturday, October 29, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Maxeys, GA, he was the son of the late Earl Patrick and Maude Mae Lyle McClain. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. McClain was preceded in death by his daughter Genelda McClain. Mr. McClain retired from Westinghouse Electric Corp as a Field Service Engineer. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII aboard the LCS 92, was a volunteer fireman at the Wolfskin Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son: James L. McClain, Jr. of Chattanooga, TN; grandsons: Perran (Karen) Davis, James L. (Tina) McClain III; great grandchildren: Diamond Allison Adams, Gage Jameson McClain; several nieces and nephews and close family friends J.B. and Garnetta Turner.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 3PM at Corinth Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 at the funeral home Monday, October 31, 2011.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2040 Belmont Road, Arnoldsville, GA 30619.
