James Joel King, 65, died Sunday, May 18, 2014.
A native of Madison County, he was the son of the late L.B. Smith and Lucille Dudley Smith. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Ray King. Joel was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and retired from Peterson Springs.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Bridges King of Comer, children and their spouses: Melanie and Billy Jones of Hull, Adam and Joy King of Danielsville, Billy and Leah King of Danielsville; sister: Marylin (Larry) Adams of Danielsville, eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 11AM at Vineyards Creek Baptist Church with Revs. Jeff Wells and Gerald Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the funeral home.
