Athens - James Buford "Jimmy" Kesler, 48, died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Athens Regional Medical Centers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 3PM at Crossroads Church with Revs. Dennis Kesler and Morris Sapp officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Worship Center Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shane Kesler, Jeremy Kesler, Eric Dove, Rodney Dove, Josh Stuart, Andy Browner, David Sapp, Phillip Kelser and Robby Compton. Honorary pallbearers will be his cousins.
A native of Athens, he was the son of Buford and Doris Butler Kesler. He retired from the University of Georgia after 23 years. He was an avid collector of anything John Deere and loved his dogs and cat.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy is survived by his daughter and son in law: Dena and Doyle Green of Colbert; brothers and sisters in law: Stanley and Sheryl Kesler, Jerry and Vickie Kesler; sisters and brother in law; Oral and Judy Dove, Cheryl Stuart; five nephews, five nieces and 17 great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetic Association.
