James Edward Hurt

James Edward Hurt, 75, of Jefferson, passed away on January 5, 2023. Born on February 9, 1947, he was the son of the late Joseph Hurt and Hesta Murphrey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, John Hurt, Charles Hurt, Joann Ashford.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Hurt; children, April McDowell (Marla Getford), Matt Hurt (Melissa Connelly); grandchildren, Gabriel and Sophie Hurt.

Jim, born in Chickamauga, Georgia, was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired as a media specialist with the Carroll County School System. His passions were Photography and Videography.

A memorial service will be held on January 28, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Central High School Media Center, 113 Central High Road Carrollton, GA.
