James Huff, 90, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, after living a full and rewarding life. He served with the U.S. Army near the end of WWII and was discharged in 1946. He lived the balance of his life in the Athens area. He was employed by the
Loef Company as an equipment operator for many years before going to work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture,
Soil Conservation Service. As a core drill operator, he performed soil investigations throughout Georgia, various sites on the
East Coast and Puerto Rica. He enjoyed helping others and was an avid outdoorsman. He was a Christian of the Baptist denomination. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary Huff. He is survived by his son, Frank Huff (Andrea),
sister Minnie Turner and many nieces and nephews. Services will be Monday, April 23, 2018. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. with Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at
Lord and Stephens Funeral Home East, Athens, Ga. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his memory to the Team Members Christmas Fund, Thrive at Athens, LTC.,
