James Wade Hicks, 81, died March 4, 2010.
A native of Franklin County, TN, he was a son of the late Fulton and Willie Martin Hicks and was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Moore and a brother, Ray Hicks. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Winterville Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 7, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST, with Revs. Matt Stephens and Dayton Logan officiating. Interment will be in Winterville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Martha Stephens Hicks; two children, Carol (Pete) Bray and Michael (Susan) Hicks; four sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Reed, Bobbie Greene, Ruby Williams, and Betty Ann Belvin; three brothers, Bill Hicks, Ed Hicks and Maurice Hicks; two grandchildren, Dwayne Bray and Brandon Hicks; one great granddaughter, Gracie Lane Bray.
Pallbearers will be Mike Eidson, Don Thuman, Brinson Lane, Arthur Eidson, Jerry Nash and Freddie Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Hardman, Jerry Hill, Roy Poole, Richard Marbut, Jimmy Marbut, Jimmy Eberhardt and Steve Rice.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Winterville First Baptist Church Building Fund.
