James Roy "Jimmy" Hamilton, Jr.
Athens

Jimmy Hamilton, 77, died Saturday, November 8, 2014.
A native of Athens, he was the son of the late James Roy Hamilton, Sr. and Etta Mae Downs Hamilton and preceded in death by Weyman Wortham, who was like a brother. He was a meat cutter at Hamilton's Grocery, former Bus Driver with Athens Clarke County Schools and member of Princeton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joyce Wortham Hamilton; daughter, Maura A. Hamilton; sister: Ann (John) Marshall; brother-in-law: William Wortham; like a sister: Helen Martin; nieces and nephews: Martha Marshall, Barbara Gunter, Terri Pitcher, Johnny Marshall, Elizabeth Vance, Kathy Whitfield, Eddie Wortham, Scott Wortham and Dr. David Wortham.
The family will receive friends at Princeton United Methodist Church, Monday, November 10, 2014 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 AM with Revs. Russell Repetske and Tom Davis officiating. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Princeton United Methodist Church, Lanier Gardens or a charity of choice.
Lord and Stephens, WEST is in charge of arrangements.
