James Thomas Granberry

James Thomas “Jim” Granberry, 79, lately of Winterville but a longtime resident of the Clarkesville area, passed away on February 13, 2022. Born on April 21, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, he was the son of the late William Harvey Granberry and Lena Workman Granberry.

Jim served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War era.  His career as a mechanical engineer led him from Tennessee to Louisiana, and finally to Georgia.  In retirement, he became deeply involved in the North Georgia square dancing scene.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William H. Granberry, Jr.

Survivors include his children, Lauren Holcomb (Mike), Michael Granberry, Matthew Granberry (Amanda); grandchildren, Zoe & Gabriel Holcomb, Aidan & Lucy Granberry; niece & nephew, Grace Granberry & Andrew Granberry.
