James Gerry Smith

James Gerry Smith, 60, died on Thursday, January 26, 2023.

Born in Athens, GA he was the son of James P. Smith of Winterville, GA and the late Gladys Busbin Smith. Gerry worked in construction most of his life. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, pitching horseshoes, shooting pool with his friends, and trout fishing.  What he loved most was being with his family.

Survivors, in addition to his father (James), include one daughter, Mandy (Chad) Wilkins; sisters: Polly (Randy) Power and  Pam (John) McKay; grandchildren: Evans and Emilee Wilkins and nieces and nephews: Jacob Power, Daniel Power, Rayann McKay and Madison McKay; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  He loved them all very much.
