Athens - James W. Fiscus, of Athens, died Friday, December 2, 2011. Born in Kansas City, Kan., he was the son of the late Clarence and Zelmah B. Fiscus and brother of the late Juanita, Manuel, Don, Marjorie, Nellie, Gale, and Raymond.
Survivors include his wife, Iris K. Fiscus; daughter, Jaymie Sims; son, James Willard Fiscus, Jr.; daughter, Melissa Byerly and two grandchildren, Douglas Williams and Ellis James Fiscus. "Jay" was a dedicated family man, a successful businessman, a Marine who defended our nation at Iwo Jima, a giving member of his community, and a lousy fisherman. He was open-minded, generous, and kind. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. Lord and Stephens East is in charge of arrangements.
