James Raymond Childs

Hull, Ga - James Raymond Childs, age 76, died Thursday February 3, 2011. A native of Oglethorpe Co. Mr. Childs was the son of the late James Willie and Lenora Hendrix Childs. Mr. Childs was retired from Inland Steel Co. and was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Childs was preceded in death by sisters, Frances Maddox; two brothers, Frank Childs Sr. and Otis Childs.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Brown Chapel, Danielsville with the Rev.'s Mitch Elder and Ray Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include wife of 54 years Ruby Michael Childs; son and daughter in law, Phil and Regina Childs; daughter and son in law, Lisa and Scott Buice; sister, Nettie Bradshaw; grandchildren, James Phillip Childs, Dwayne Drake, Lindsey Walshe, Logan Buice and Christopher Buice; great grandchild, Georgia Ann Walshe; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers Gerald Maddox, Scott Bradshaw, Frank Childs Jr., Josh Walshe, Jay Swinford, Bobby Chafin and Anthony England.
The family will receive friends ar Brown Chapel, Danielsville on Sunday from 6-9 p.m.
