Winterville, GA - James Alton Busbin, 92, died September 5, 2005.
A native and lifelong resident of Oglethorpe County, he was a son of the late Lois Stewart and James David Clark Busbin, and the widower of Mildred Carter Busbin. He was also preceded in death by a son, James V. Busbin and grandson, Johnathon Gabriel. Mr. Busbin was a retired farmer and school bus driver with the Ohlethorpe County School System. He was a member of Sonlight Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 8, 2005, at 2:00p.m. at the chapel of the Lord and Stephens, EAST. Revs. Nathan Palmer and John Parker will officiate. Interment will be in Arnoldsville Cemetery.
Survivors include ten children, David T. Busbin, Doris Ann Gabriel, Larry Busbin, Sandra B. Arnold, all of Winterville, Beverly B. Gabriel of Colbert, Susan B. Mauldin of Watkinsville, Helen Busbin Vidic of Kankakee, Illinois, Roger D. Busbin of Winterville, Freida B. Rice of Winterville, and Ricky A. Busbin of Hull; two sisters, Hazel Martin of Danielsville and Betty J. Milligan of Winterville; two brothers, Fred C. Busbin of North Ft.Myers, FL. And Ben F. Busbin of Winterville; thirty-one grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00p.m. until 9:00p.m. at the funeral home.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the Quiet Oaks Nursing Home.
