James Reid Bramlett, 92, husband of 70 years to the late Thelma Branam Bramlett, died Sunday, November 30, 2014.

Born in Tiger, GA, he was son of the late Henry Lawrence Bramlett and Lassie Holcomb Bramlett. James was a Farmer all of his life and also retired from General Times/Westclox after 27 years. He served his country in the US Army during WWII, was a member of and Life Deacon at Winterville First Baptist Church and a longtime volunteer at the Beaverdam Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Odie Bramlett, Velma Rochester and Ola Rochester, grandson, Chad David Cook and great granddaughter, Isabelle Brooke Bramlett.

Survivors include his children: Tim (Ethel) Bramlett of Winterville, Randy (Sandra) Bramlett of Winterville, Sheryl Cook of Bogart; grandchildren: Jamey Bramlett, Michelle Jackson, Kevin Cook, Janel Hall, Jason Bramlett, Justin Bramlett, Sabrina Fillers and four great grandchildren: Austen Justice, Savannah Justice, Reagan Bramlett and Ben Fillers.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 2PM at Winterville First Baptist Church with Dr. Phil Wages and Dr. Rick Standard officiating. Burial will follow at Athens Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons in law.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank his caretakers, Missy, Cathy, Jackie, Crystal, Compassionate Care Hospice and its volunteers.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Winterville First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Lord & Stephens East is in charge of arrangements.
