Nicholson - James Benjamin Altmiller, 72, died October 9, 2006.
A native of Louisville, KY, he was a son of the late Joseph and Esther Mary Vowels Altmiller, and was preceded in death by a brother, William P. Altmiller. Mr. Altmiller was a member of St. Josephís Catholic Church for many years.
Memorial Mass will be Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 10:00 AM, at St. Josephís Catholic Church, Athens, GA.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Kaufman Altmiller; four children, James Roger (Jenni) Altmiller of Homer, GA, Debra Ann (John) Harms of Dunwoody, GA, Thomas Joseph (Valorie) Altmiller of Jefferson, GA, Patricia Lynne (Grady) Hester of Tucker, GA; four sisters, Joann Shaughnessy of Louisville, KY, Rita (Frank) Mersmann of Louisville, KY, Ruth (Thomas) Azar of Montgomery, AL, Helen Altmiller of Indiana; one brother, Jerry (Myrtle) Altmiller of Bradenton, FL; sister-in-law, Helen Aldridge Altmiller of Ohio; six grandchildren, Timothy J. Altmiller, Jennifer Decou, Alicia Parker, Benjamin Altmiller, Thomas Joseph (Bud) Altmiller, and Andrew Altmiller; forty-nine nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Josephís Catholic Church Building Fund, 134 Prince Ave, Athens, GA 30601.
