Winterville - James B. McDaniel, 76, went home to be with the Lord June 26, 2008.
Born in Hall County, he was the son of the late James W. and Emma Crane McDaniel. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Stephens. He was a retired truck driver and had attended Diamond Hill Baptist Church.
He is leaving behind his beloved wife of 58 years, Alice McDaniel; sons and daughters in law: Glenn and Cindy McDaniel of Florida, Reese and Liz McDaniel of Thomson; daughter and son in law: Carol and Billy McElroy; brothers: Junior McDaniel, Billy McDaniel; sister: Peggy Hubbard; six grandchildren: Amanda Segars, Kenneth Ashley, Michelle Wiggs, Dale Ashley, Scott Stephens, Ashley Price; 17 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and last but not least Rocky and Dixie
Funeral services will be held 11AM, Monday, June 30, 2008 at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Revs. Shannon West, Roger Loggins and Ron Daughtery officiating. Burial will follow at Winterville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dale Ashley, Scott Stephens, Chris Price, Ken Ashley, Tommy Wiggs, Brian Corey and J.G. Rush. Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Meadows, Keith Perry, Lucious Escoe and Stephens Segars.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 29, 2008 from 2 to 4 at the funeral home.
