James William Alley, Sr., 86 of Greensboro, Georgia passed away on Tuesday August 17, 2021. Born on April 8, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the son of the late Raleigh Alley, and Maria Wesselman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six older siblings.
He was always the baby brother. He graduated in 1954 from Central High School in Cincinnati, where he was senior class president and captain of the football team. That’s where he met his wife of 64 years, Joyce (Waller) Alley. They were the homecoming king and queen. For 39 years he worked for CF, Consolidated Freightways, joined the Teamsters. He was transferred to Atlanta in 1982. He only missed one day of work in that 39 years. He was a big believer in “you get what you work for”. He lived in Conyers and Covington where he was a landlord to many. He loved traveling Interstate 75 to Cincinnati. Eight hours, 500 miles exactly, only one stop in Tennessee. In Cincinnati he loved going to the horse races at River Downs. He never met a stranger and was the best at story telling. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Alley of Greensboro, Georgia with daughter, Melissa McCullough, her husband, Bradley McCullough; Son David Alley, his wife Karen Alley; and Son Dan Alley of Cincinnati; and Son James Alley Jr., his wife Linda Alley of Milford, Ohio. His beloved grandchildren: Niki, Matthew, Taylor, Daniel, Makenzi, Brittany, Sarah, Rachel, Wyatt and Alley. And Great grandchildren: Lyla, Della, Jude, Owen and Marco
He adored his family
