Bogart - Jai Prakash Srivastava of Bogart, Georgia went to be with his maker on July 1, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife Lucille; son Sunny Srivastava and his wife Jennifer and their children Jacob and Abby of Andover, MA; step children Karl Scholz of Austin, TX, Tara Pinkos of Brookfield, MA and Michael Scholz of Windham, NH; sister and brother-in-law Krishna and P.N. Srivastava of Athens, GA; brother G.P. Srivastava of Pune, India; and sister Savitri Srivastava of Sitapur, India. He is predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S.D. Verma; brothers O.P. Srivastava and R.P. Srivastava; and sister Kanta Verma of India. He leaves behind his loving grandchildren Jacob, Abby, Sophia, Shayla and Loryn.
Mr. Srivastava settled in Athens in 1997 and was a revered math teacher at Athens Tech. Before moving to Athens, he lived in Boston, MA from 1971 to 1997 and worked at Westinghouse Corporation. He obtained his masters in Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston in 1973. He did his graduate studies at Agra University in 1968 and immigrated to U.S. in 1970 with his first (predeceased) wife Sudha. He was born in Delhi, India.
Mr. Srivastava's passion was his family. He cherished his time with his wife, children, grandchildren siblings, nieces, nephews and extended family. He loved music and was a talented singer and delighted friends and family with his beautiful voice at family gatherings and will be remembered forever.
He was a kind, gentle and tender soul who will be dearly missed by friends and family. The family will receive visitors Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Lord & Stephens East from 2 until 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holiday Food, Clothing and Toy Drive for Needy Families, Hilsman Middle School, 870 Gaines School Rd., Athens, GA 30605.
