Jacquelyn J. Maddox, 84, of Athens died Sunday, September 14, 2014. Born in Macon GA to the late Abner and Clevie McCarty Johnson, Jacquelyn had spent the last 52 years in Athens. She was a University of Georgia graduate and member of the Phi Mu sorority. Jacquelyn was a member of Athens First United Methodist church and belonged to many organizations such as the St. Mary's Auxillary and the Noon Club.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Kenney Maddox, Jr. Jacquelyn is survived by her children; Peter J. Maddox of Athens, Stephen B. Maddox of Athens, Joanna M. Collins (Gordon K.) of Watkinsville, and Lynn M. Askew (Brad), of Loganville. Seven grandchilren, and one great grandchild.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 17 at 2:00PM at Lord and Stephens East chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 16 from 6-8. Burial will be at Athens Memory Gardens.
Lord and Stephens, East is in charge of arrangements.
