Jacqueline Stokely Williford, 96, of Augusta, wife of the late Gordon Williford, passed away on November 19, 2016.
Jacqueline was born in Crawford, GA to the late John (Jack) G. Stokely and the late Addie Berry Stokely. She graduated from Crawford High School and the Georgia State College for Women (GSCW). She worked as a secretary for an Augusta bank, the the U.S. Army during World War II, the Commercial Bank in Crawford, the Social Security Administration in Athens, a psychiatric practice, and the Augusta VA Medical Center, Uptown from which she retired. She was a member of First Baptist of Augusta and the Golden Circle Sunday School Class.
Jacqueline was preceded in death by her brother, Jack F. Stokely.
Jacqueline is survived by her children, Linda C. Williford Marlette, Dr. Gordon S. Williford and wife Dr. Kathryn K. Williford, Jacqueline Williford Kelly, and Robert C. Williford; grandchildren, Louie A. Kelly III, Gordon S. Williford Jr., Mary Claire Williford, and John J. Williford; and niece, June C. Stokely.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 2:30PM at Crawford Cemetery with the Rev. Patti Fowler of First Baptist Church of Augusta officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 at Lord & Stephens East Chapel on Wednesday, November 23, 2016.
