Jacob William Hollis

October 5, 1995 — August 29, 2014

Jacob William Hollis, age 18, of Watkinsville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 29, 2014. Jacob's battle with cancer was long and grueling but he fought with honor and courage, which is indicative of the way he lived. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, but lived most of his life in Watkinsville, Georgia.
Jacob attended school in Oconee County and recently graduated from North Oconee High School in May, 2014. He was a member and on the leadership team for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a member of the North Oconee Titan Regiment Marching Band, BETA Club, HERO Club and played basketball for one year. He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, played in the Youth Praise band, served on the Youth Leadership Team, and went on several mission trips which included New Orleans, LA, Greenville, SC, and Kotzebue, AK. Jacob had a bold and strong faith in God and his heart's desire was to share this with others. He believed that when compassion meets action, lives change.
Jacob is survived by his parents, Stephen and Melanie Hollis; his brothers, Garrett and Ethan, maternal grandmother, Ella Mae Pitts, many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
