Jacob Thomas Griffith, 30, died March 5, 2015.
A native and lifelong resident of Athens, he was a son of Tommy and Tammy Griffith of Athens. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Shirley Griffith and a grandfather, Garley Church, Sr.
Jacob was a 2004 graduate of Jackson County High School, where he played in several sports. He loved University of Georgia athletics, especially football. He also enjoyed spending time at Lake Hartwell with his family. He was a member of Beech Haven Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his brother, Justin Griffith; grandfather, Buddy Griffith; grandmother, Joan Church, all of Athens; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
