Jackie Hembree, 75, wife of the late Bill Hembree, died Wednesday, September 24, 2014.
A native of Athens, she was the daughter of the late John Towns Roberts and Dessie Bullock Roberts and sister to the late Wayne and Larry Roberts. She worked at Thomas Textile for 35 years and also retired from the Athens Clarke County Clerk of Courts office after 20 years. She was a member of Whitehall Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children: Scott (Sandi) Hembree of Watkinsville, Susan (Dennis) Cook of Athens; sister: Barbara Teat of Athens; granddaughters: Katie Cook and Taylor Hembree.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11AM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike, Rusty and Jimmy Hembree, Steve Roberts, Mitch Teat and Red Cunningham. Honorary pallbearers will be her co-workers from the Athens Clarke County Clerk of Court. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Whitehall Baptist Church.
