Jack Randolph Shore, 80, died Monday, February 15, 2010.
Born April 11, 1929 in Walton County, Ga., he was a son of the late Willard Charleston and Bertie Magdalene Brown Shore. Mr. Shore retired from General Motors after forty years and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He moved to Athens from Monroe thirty-one years ago and was a member of Whitehall Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST, with Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Mary C. Shore; four children, Rebecca Broach of Bostwick, Ga., Kathie Walden and Patricia Head, both of Monroe, and Deborah Malcom of Madison, Ga.; stepdaughter, Sandra J. Booth of Watkinsville, Ga.; stepson, Jimmy G. Fulcher of Arnoldsville, Ga.; sister, Lillie Ruth Jones of Monroe, Ga.; nine grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Phillip Jones, Jamie Pannell, Jeremy Pannell, Daniel Head, Shane Malcom and Dennis Malcom.
Honorary pallbearers will be Athens Clarke County Fire Department Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
