Jack O'Neal Helton

Jack O’Neal Helton, 71, of Hull, died on Monday, December 4, 2023.

Born in Athens to the late Eldo Glazier Helton and Nettie Sue Tucker Helton, Jack worked as an electrician for EIC of Athens until his retirement. Jack loved old Westerns, especially Gunsmoke, and riding around with his dog, Anna, usually while eating Slim Jims and peanuts. He was a good man with a big heart who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was beloved by all, and he will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 6 siblings.

Jack is survived by his wife, Janice Meeler Helton; four children: Grant Helton (Amber), Valarie Kincaid (Danny), Kristi Bradshaw (Steve), and Jason Brown (Kathryn); brother Jerry Helton; sisters Mildred Mealor and Alice Chambers; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8 at Lord and Stephens, Danielsville at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Collier Baptist Church Cemetery.
