Athens - Jack Edward Clanton, 71, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at his residence.
Born in Calvery, GA, he was the son of the late Carruth Newton Clanton and Frances Eva Sholar Clanton Watts. He retired from Delta Life Insurance Company as an agent.
Survivors include his wife of 48 ½ years, Elizabeth Sue Harbuck Clanton; sons: Michael Duane Clanton and Eric Benjamin Clanton; brother: Robert N. Clanton; nephews: Robert Marcus (Mark) Clanton, Munray Clanton as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held Friday, June 11, 2010 at 2PM at Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 10, 2010, from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the University of Georgia College of Veterinarian Medicine, PDRC.
