Jack Carson Carter

September 19, 1936 — January 29, 2022

Jack Carson Carter, 85, died January 27, 2022. Born in Winterville, GA he was the son of the late Franklin Carson Carter and Janie Lou Slay Carter and brother to the late Ralph Carter. Jack retired from Cedar Shoals High School as a teacher and golf coach in 1988 and he also retired from the Oconee County Tax Commissioner’s Office. He was a member of Johnson United Methodist Church where he played the organ. Survivors include his sister: Mary Bell and nieces and nephews: Lisa Phillips, Melanie Carter, Mark Carter and Jimmy Bell. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11AM at Johnson United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, WEST, Watkinsville, GA is in charge of arrangements. www.lordandstephens.com
